Valve bucket shim machining?

Hi,
I need to have shims made in sizes that are not standard and need to know if the current shims can be machined down to the required thickness or would I be looking at having new ones machined?

take some of the valve stem instead?

yes the shims can be ground down no problem

Take it off the shim not the valve stem
