I want to import a WRX from a dealer in europe. Which country is the best (cheapest)to use. Does anyone have a contact for a main dealer that exports to the UK.

Somewhat belatedly I found the importing Imprezas site and it was full of useful stuff. Go to
http://groups.yahoo.com
and take it from there.
The cheapest places I believe are Belgium and Holland. Belgian cars come with a 3 year warranty supported by Subaru Belgium; not sure how this goes down with the UK dealers.
There are a couple of brokers that can help and seem to be recommended by people on the site keyring-cars.co.uk and litchfield imports.co.uk (I think). There are others as well. Use the search facility and you should find good stuff.
Be careful about mods on an import - PPP is not at present covered on imported cars - again use the search to find.
Also have a read on WRXBobs post in here - looks like it may be worth following up.
I've got a Belgian 2001MY and am well pleased. Why pay IM £5k for the prividge of a UK car?

We are going there 6,7,8 Dec to pick up our new beast, If you look on general there is a thread. Come along and check him out!. They are the cheapest and the nicest to deal with IMHO!

If you decide to import yourself rather than through an agent like I did from Holland last year. I used an inland dealer as i was told that port dealers had cottened on to us Brits buying our cars abroad (don't know if this was true). I also fixed my currency with www.hifx.co.uk but, as from January 1st when the Euro is in full swing this won't apply.
Hope this is of use.
