remap around the northwest area
i will be requiring a remap in the near future and want info on decent mappers around this area. i have had a quote of 650.00 + vat from prosport (is this a good price)? any others?
can anyone confirm prosports email address as i have emailed them yesterday and told i would have a reply yesterday but it would appear they havent replied yet.

Hi, I spoke to Prosport a few weks ago with regards this, and was quoted the same sorta money.
I can't remember what bhp and torque increases were though
But it may be worth seeing if there is enough people interested to ask about a deal on a group buy. Obviously depending on peoples thoughts about value and power increases. What do you think?
With regards there e-mail, I'm not sure, but I do remember them commenting on how busy they are.

I paid about that for the mapping on mine. I have found pete slow on the email front but then they are very busy. Apart from that they are superb though. Don't bother with anywhere else. Just ring up and remind them.

Bob, don't bother with emailing prosport, that's far too 21st century for Pete, and only Claire answers them anyway
Give them a call and discuss your requirements, I'm sure you've some other power mods in mind? Not much point remapping a bog standard car, better to bang in a few mods before you get the map done, otherwise you end up paying again, although not the full amount, for a mapping session later.
Have a good look around at the competition though. Powerstation did mine: read from post # 42 Supertouring has been mapped by WRC TECH and the chief was mapped by the great Andy F. So we've some experience between us (my old silver classic was mapped by Bob Rawle too )
Price of £650 is the going rate for a map these days, you can sometimes negotiate a cheaper one with a group buy, but that can be more hassle that it's worth
Get yourself down to our meet this thursday if you can here
and chat to everyone about your options

You can negotiate - but if you get Andy F down it will cost you 200 quid for expenses - which is not too bad if there are two or three (i think three is his max) of you who split the cost. If you drove up to Scotland and back you would easily go through 80-100 quids worth of juice.
Agreed with what Chris said - get all your other mods out of the way first.
Full decat or preferebly a sports cat to be MOT friendly, an STi or Green panel filter. upgraded spark plugs and i was advised to uprate my fuel pump also - which i glad i did. you can also. I also had my resonator box ditched and a cold air feed pipe fitted.
sounds a lot and i suppose it is - my power is probably around 275-280 ish mark which may not sound a lot but the torque rockets up - trust me worth every penny.
i consider mine to be lightly modded yet i stood toe to toe once with an E46 M3.
Oh come to the meet and you'll be very welcome - i also have some cheap mods that you may be interested in!!!! and i'll even give you a discount

We were up at Town End Garage in Carnforth for the SXOC north west rolling road day recently and were very impressed with his set up, Steve Simpson seems to spend a lot of time mapping scoobies and the prices seemed very reasonable Worth a look?
