Hey All,

I've got a late '99 (newish shaped model) Legacy 2.5. The problem is that it doesn't engage first gear when setting off: often there's a long pause and even more often it doesn't engage unless I hold the revs at about 1500 - 2000 rpm when it suddenly kicks in to place.

So, this has got steadily worse and yesterday it took about 5 mins to engage drive. I've rang a couple of places up and they're quoting over 2k to take the gear box out and sort it out.

Can anyone reccomend someone near Woking, Surrey who can sort this out?
