I've heard about it - mostly associated with the Check Engine Light (CEL) coming on.

I've read about a few people having had it replaced - don't know about the warranty details though. Try a search on CEL.

How did you find aout about yours - I'm interested 'cos by CEL comes on a bit and I'm trying to find out which damn sensor I need to replace without wasting money

Rice, I had to get mine changed shortly after buying the car. Symptoms were a flashing CEL when accelerating in 4th gear from low revs. acceleration was slow and choppy and the CEL would then start flashing.
It cost around £85 to have it replaced IIRC.

I bought one of these off ebay for £36 and it does allow you to read fault codes and reset ECU. You need to have access to a laptop with a serial port though.

Cheers Mark - that's the cheapest stuff I've seen for doing this, don't think it will help me though.

I always get the same fault (engine misfire in cylinder 1) and if I leave the the CEL for long enough it will go away

I had one of these replaced by Gatwick Subaru only 2 weeks ago.

Totally transformed the car.

Before it was changed the car was running well but was flat at the top and boost was all over the place.

If it's out of warranty, ask your dealer to put a post warranty authorisation into subaru, they may just help out!!
