Default full service including the timing belt

anyone in the Aberdeen area know who is the best and the cheapest for a full service including the timing belt

Put it this way, the belt costs £50, labour is around an hour for the belt, then add the usual service cost.

That's what it "should" cost

i had mine done for around £300 dealers and specialists wanted closer to £750

Mines a 96 so not too fussed about paying main dealer tax for the perceived added value...

Did mine myself and I think an hour is a tad optimistic...and I'm pretty skilled with a spanner and 3 foot scaffold pole (crank pulley bolt..) Took me an afternoon as I had to make a lock bar for the crank pulley, remove radiator and some of the belt guard bolts gave me some grief. Dealer prob 2 hours at best.

Kev, you must have been unlucky mate...

Should take less than an hour, crank bolt will undo with car in 5th gear... never had a problem, rad can stay in just remove fans..
