Angry Have I been ripped off?

A couple of weeks ago, I bought some lights from another user on here.

To cut a long story short, I paid for them on 27/07 and they still haven't turned up.
I've PM'd him on numerous occasions and i either get bull$h1tt3d or ignored.
I've had 2 different parcel tracking numbers and 2 different postage dates from him, so far.
TBH i don't think he's even bothered to send them

I contacted him yesterday, politely asking him to refund me, also stating that if the item arrives in the future, I will have no problem in sending it back to him at my expense.
Unsurprisingly, he has not responded to my request.

I am a little concerned that the item will not turn up and the seller will not refund my money, so I am trying to get my money back through Paypal's dispute resolution service...although I'm not holding my breath
What else can I do?

I'm not going to name'n'shame just yet...
Perhaps he'd like to come on this thread and give his 'side' of the story!?

you really have a duty to other snetters to warn them of who *may* be messing you about.
otherwise you could be letting someone else get bumped.
I have bought and sold loads on here and touch wood its all been good.
I would be gutted to have a deal turn sour with a deal for someone else to pop up and say afterwards, "oh, I got bumped by them too".

Don't worry, i *will* name and shame, although I don't want to jeopardise any refund claim I may have through Paypal!

Dont worry I'll name him for you, it was me.

So this guy wants me to refund his money even though the goods have been posted and show on Royal Mails web site as awaiting conformation of delivery.
I did appologies to you for the delay, my exuse was I was stripping all the parts on the car and neaded time to do it, WHICH I CLEARLY SAID AT THE VERY TOP OF THE THREAD.

I posted these too you on the 9/8/04

So I'll be out a set of PIAA's and £140, doubt it.
Royal Mail can take up to 2 weeks to deliver, as you said you sell parts on Ebay you will know even Ebay recommend waiting 2 weeks after postage before leaving negative feedback.
Royal Mail has also said to wait longer, the only reason you are panicin and dont want to wait longer is because Paypal wont honer your claim becuase it will have run after 30 days.

I'm not refunding your money because I beleive the PIAA's will arrive, and if/when they do, should you want to return them we can cross that bridge when we come to it as I aready said.

No body on this forum has ever been bumped by me and they never will, get a grip.

Mayby you should by a megaphone and let your street know too.

I had a similar problem a few months ago with a radio control car that I sold to another user on here and Royal Mail took 2 and a half weeks to deliver it I provided the user with a copy of the receipt and luckily he gave me some time and it did turn up just when I was giving up hope.

My advice to anyone now is don't use Royal Mail to post big stuff. I now use parcel2go instead and it normally turns up next day

There you go...

He's named and shamed himself.

I still think it's inexcusable to have taken my money and then bullsh1tt3d for about 10 days that they're "on their way m8" and all that cr@p, and THEN to have the audacity to tell me that you've (finally) posted them on 09/08 (maybe, who knows?)

I can understand taking a couple of days to take the parts off your car, but not nearly 2 weeks.

It feels like you've had my money, and all i've had is a 2 fingured salute and more than £140 in grief.

TBH I'm not panicking, I've just written it off.
I can only advise other snetters in the community about the **** dealing i've had with you scott.

I've named and shamed myself, what are you talking about?

The shame here is Royal Mail are taking there time to deliver your lights, it's also a shame that you have got so upset over it and felt the need to vent on a public forum, you wern't doing yourself any favours.

I haven't writen this off, that is where you and me differ.

I provided the user with a copy of the receipt and luckily he gave me some time and it did turn up just when I was giving up hope
I've seen me waiting 2 months for parts I bought from members on here, it's just the way it goes sometimes, people can get caught up with other things, jobs, waiting on other people, life, Royal mail etc!!
Harassing people with angry PM's isn't going to get anybody anywhere.
Alot of us know each other, because we have met through owning the Impreza and have been registered members for a long time, we know who we are dealing with so there is a certain element of trust.
I had people sending me well over £1K for parts from the car who I have never met or spoke to before and they have been absolutely brilliant, no problems at all, it's easy to tell who the enthusiasts are

.....and who are not.

A vote in confindence for Scoty here. He once sent me over £3K for parts which I happily ordered in advance even before receiving a deposit and Scott was true to his word! It's all about trust and I placed a lot of trust in him for that order as I would now.

A lot of SN members have had dealings with Scoty and they know who they are dealing with. Sometimes it happens and people do get caught up in life but as long as they come good in the end.

Best regards,
Simon

you order parts and sumbody doesnt pay, you can always sell them on again or even send them back to the supplier??

how is this related?

now if he had of sent you his 3k in advance, and you then told him his parts were posted, but then you changed your mind and at a later date said "ive just posted them" then i could see a relevance (sp?)
