Impreza Specialists South East ??????
#1
Hi All,
I've recently moved back to the UK after living in Holland for the past 5 years. I've brought my lovely 99 model Impreza with me, but it's still on Dutch plates.
I know what I have to do to get the car registered over here, but I was wondering if anybody can recommend any good Impreza specialists in the South East. I'd like to go somewhere recommended where they won't rip me off to do the conversion work on the car that's required.
I'm living in boring Bracknell - any good dealers recommended in the area will be *very* much appreciated.
Thanks all

Ant - Being a Boring Bracknell resident aswell I am going to use the Bulldog in Twyford (About 10 mins away)
They have only just opened as a Scooby dealer but I have seen a few Scoobies being Serviced there and apprently they also have Technicians with Scooby experience.
Also keep your eye out in the Southern section for the Bracknell Meet as we usually have a good laugh. (its around the 25th of each month)
Anyway I will keep my eyes peeled for your car so I can give you a wave. I have a DGM MY99 Turbo.

Hi,
my impreza is a dark blue MY 99 with Dutch plates. It's insured and taxed in Holland, but as I've moved back here I've been advised not to drive on the roads until I get UK tax and reg. I do have the occasional short spin (just to keep the battery charged officer).
I think I'll come over to the Southern meet in November as all my weekends this month are booked out.
Great feedback from everybody - many thanks.

I've been through the same process myself. Brought my treasured MY97 LHD Impreza into the UK from Europe when I moved back.
The work required to get it registered in UK was if I remember
- 2 new headlights to sort out the beams. LHD ones couldn't be adjusted and the black tape solution isn't accepted.
- Rewiring of rear fog light
- Conversion of speedo to show MPH
I got the first 2 done at an official Subaru dealer as part of the service, but the speedo was tricky. In the end Power Engineering at Uxbridge sorted it.
These were some paperwork issues also, which meant I had to talk to Subaru UK to get the vehicle exempted from some regulations.
All in all quite a complex process that I hope is simpler for you.
