I'm hoping someone on here can recommend a decent place near any of these locations in the UK. Gatwick to Sevenoaks area, Brighton (anywhere in Sussex in fact), Wells nr Somerset, Preston, Lancashire and area, South Lakes as far north as Carlisle. Someone must know a decent MOT station around these areas.

I'm on a tour of friends and relatives when I come back to the UK in mid october so can fit the MOT in around these locations. I'm not after a place that is friendly on decats! Just somewhere that can be trusted to do the proper procedure for brake testing and that won't rag the **** of my car during the test drive.

Test drive???? Brakes are tested on rollers, most MOT stations do an MOT while-u-wait and more often than not, you can be sat in the driver's seat yourself, while they carry out the test.

For the short while involved and low revs/mph reached, no harm will be done at all on the rollers

I never brake roller test permenant 4x4's !! thats what the Tapley meter is for.
Any damaged caused by incorrect test methods leaves the garage liable for the repair costs.
