Another Dealership bits the dust !

Yes, sorry to hear about this, but watch this space, many more are closing as the block exemption hits the dealer network. This will affect not just Subaru, many others will be in similar situations.
This is mainly due to the manufacturer/importer placing further constraints/compliance details onto the dealers and expecting them to simply dig into their pockets and spend mega bucks on their premises, changing floor tile colours, wall colours, door handles etc, just to maintain their "image" so to speak.
This, with the shrinking profit in car deals, does not give many dealers the breathing room to do such things, so as I say, they wont be the first or last to say goodbye to a franchise......

Dealers traditionally made the bulk of their profits from servicing and owners were tied into having the car serviced by a main dealer to maintain their warranty. Since 2002 you can have any new car serviced at any vat registered workshop and the warranty is not affected. In fact if the car doesn't need any warranty work, it may never be seen by a franchised dealer after being collected by the new owner.

30th of september is the end of the present contract for dealerships we are one of the lucky ones who have been approved by subaru to carry on and have been told we are doing so by our dealer principle.
