they have been pretty helpful to me so far.

Tony in the parts dept is very helpful and so is Simon/Steve in service.

They serviced my MY98 all through my time with it - they do a reasonable job, just check that if you ask for anything over and above the basic service they've actually done it - took 3 trips to get them to look at the driver's door alignment on mine, other than that OK.

Also they give SIDC discount, so make sure you have your card with you - join if not a member, you'll save more than the cost of membership.

Simon.

(edited to remove profanity and dodgy comment - rest of post remains in author's opinion).
Any other dealer is better than them.

lol! And I was worried about being subtle

One of the mechanics is lovely and helpful, and the guy on the parts dept. (I'm not good with names ) was very, very helpful, even coming out to see the Scoob in the rain to I could point out lots of bizarre bits of plastic to him so he could order them for me

Appart from that the sales person almost killed me on a test drive and I've had the MOT and service there and I'm not convinced the car actually moved...headlights missaligned and numerous other things wrong with it...just IMHO of course I know other who are happy, I know others who would push their car to Basingstoke if it broke down in Botley

I have mixed feelings too. Jeff in the Parts department is helpful and always gives me discount.

The sales manager is a shark, as are all of the other sales people I have come accross to be honest.

I've not been there myself but I hear good things about Basingstoke so it might be worth a look.

I booked mine in at Sparsh1tts recently, to have the sluggishness looked at and the brake squeeling stopped, I sat around for best part of 2 hours and they finally came out and said 'we've reset your ECU - try that.' What about my brakes I asked?? 'Well thats a half days work so you'll have to book it in again'. I had taken an afternoon off work to get it sorted and then didn't really get much done at all, my brakes still squeal.

Thumbs up

We have used Sparshatts for four years and had nothing but excellent service, yes the sales guys are a bit tight (but what car dealers aren't).
We have had warranty work and servicing carried out with the utmost care and attention and Sparshatts have either collected the car from work or supplied a curtesy car for the day.

A big thanks to Sparshatts

Well they did my PPP conversion 2 weeks ago and I am very pleased. They also fitted the Dipol gear lock and that was an excellent job too.

And I got a hefty diso**** for both items and I didn't even ask !

Not sure what all the fuss is about.

I think that's the issue - you have to try them yourself to decide, people do seem to have varying experiences there...

Great.

Especially Dave in the workshop. ALWAYS does my car, has done for last 50K+ miles.
Rebuilt my motor sweet as......better than the factory one for sure.
Also did loads of niggly little jobs without beng asked.

Kudos too to Norman and Simon in Service and Jeff in Parts.

Well......you need to make up your own mind but I bought my STi7 from them (unfortunately) and (apart from its first service) it has never and will never go back there. As Jen said I would rather push the car to Basingstoke then let it go to said dealer in Botley.
But saying that the Parts guy (can't remember his name) is very good. Service dept staff (not the mechs as I haven't dealt with them) = Pants !!

Rach
