My cars due the big service 50k, and Mill Lane in Basingstoke have quoted about £400. I'm sure there must be some jap specialists in the area that does it cheaper, however I just cannot find them in the Yellow pages etc. Anybody use a special garage in the area to get their car serviced? I live in Farnborough.
Cheers

I hope he's good danny as I've booked mine in!

Sounded a nice bloke and actually intent on saving me money rather than taking it. Just looking at the prices on the internet gives you some idea, but he uses genuine Scoob parts as well. I would not just send my baby to anyone so we will see, anyway it's got tracker!

Anyone on here used him?

I have to say Brookwood Motor Company in Newbury, Berkshire (only about 14 miles from Mile Lane)

I know a few People on Scoobynet use them....

I've already booked it in with this other fella, but thanks for replying and giving yourself a bit of free advertising

I take it you do servicing as well then?

PP,

Have you had your service done? How much was it? How did you rate the service.

Thanks

DGRally:

What clutch did you go for, was it an OEM item or an after market like Helix or AP orgasmic?

Are Brookwood Scooby dealers or an independant garage?
Were you happy with the work?
Any clutch judder? (I have experianced none in 96k miles from original clutch and don't want any with replacement, especially if I pay nearly £1k for the job from a dealer).

I just had a service & cambelt at Crossroad garage in Rake, just North of Petersfield, (used to be Subaru dealership (I think) in Cheriton a few years ago.) They agreed to do a cambelt & service with a day's notice, even though they seemed pretty busy. The garage unit is not the most inspiring (outside anyway), but they knew what they were doing and there were five or six scoobies there when I visited. They advertise on here & give discount for Scoobynetters. They found a weeping oil seal whilst changing cambelt and rather than just leave it they ordered another from Subaru (Proven, Sparshatts & Cheam did not have one) and delayed the job by a day. This meant they sorted a courtesy car out for me on a Sunday. Prices were good too I think - cambelt & tensioner fitted for £229, Rocker cover gasket replaced for £96, 15K service for £80 (including air filter - all Subaru parts). Quoted a new clutch at £295 fitted. Cleaned the engine bay up nicely as well. Certainly better service than I've had from certain subaru dealerships. I'll be going back & would recommend.

Call David Hunt (friendly & knows his stuff) on 01730 233700

Cata

Brookwood have been rallying Subarus for about 6-7 years and the garage has been in business for about 20 years and they do know what they are on about.

and by the way, No, i haven't got any clutch judder

Robs - Nice report on Crossroad Garage in Rake. I shall remember them for my next service.

Sub 300 for a clutch fitted is great. I presume that included parts etc?

Sith, you should check with them, but it sounded like all in. - they were just fitting one in another Scooby when I arrived..I asked how much because I'd just had one put in by a Subaru dealer a couple of months earlier..I had to sit down when he told me - half what Subaru charged...gulp. Wish I'd known they were there a couple of months ago...
