I took it there for the 60k service at 500 all in and told them to sort the loud squeeling from my front brakes, and got the car back with new back discs an mot and the service done, now i'm no expert but when you do the 60k aren't you supposed to change the oil filter because it looks like the old one to me(if its at the back of the engine) and also when I got it back they said they had sorted my front brakes....
Not so, in fact it looks as if they hadn't even looked at them, the pads were still seized in the calipers and had to be filed down.
If they had looked at the calipers and so much as tried to spin the wheel while up they would have found that it didn't hardly spin. Still the bill was 850 all in...

And to add insult, scoobymania said they do the 60k for 350 all in,,,,,p**s me off

Maybe a communication error within the company, but suffice to say scoobymania are my new friends.

Edited to remove the lying accusation out, it was an over the top remark, sorry all....Nick

Nick, saw the heads up on Grahams test car...very sweet. Are you sure it does boost and not just rpm / speed etc?

Unhappy

Nick

I am sorry to hear that you are dissatified with our service in some way.. particularly as this is the first I have heard about it. .. Obviously if you let us know we are always happy to sort any problem.

Also the bill for £850 included quite a bit of other work as well. We wouldn't dream of charging that for a 60k service.

As you know from you job card we did

Carried out 60 k service
Coolant reservoir empty, topped up and pressure tested system, found to be OK
Off side caliper dragging, stripped down and found incorrectly spaced caliper. Re spaced and reassembled
Rear brake disks corroded, stripped down, replaced disks, cleaned caliper and pad sliding surfaces
Replaced number plate bulb, bolts were badly corroded, had to grind off heads and replace bolts.
remove bleed off valve (at customers request)
Remove superchip (at customers request)
Road tested vehicle
Take vehicle for MOT (passed)

Additional labour 3.5 hours

Parts used/ Materials

MOT £39.25
Impreza 60k service with ITG filter £436.80
Disposal of waste oils/filters (environmental charge) £3.00
5w number plate bulb £0.58
Pair of Impreza rear Brembo disks £110.00

Labour for additional work (brakes etc) £138.25

Total ex VAT £727.88
Total with VAT £855.26

I honestly would struggle to perform this work for £350 all in.. i am pretty sure most other specialists would concur.

As above.. please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any problems with our products or services

Kind regards

Paul
TSL

it's amazing how a simple one liner of one persons side of a story can conjour up so many distorted images of what actually happened.

Thank paul for responding.

All the best

I'll send you an E-mail Paul.

But to the people on here.
I know that I maybe the only dissatisfied customer on here and that you have a good record for your work, I'll also concur that in a fit of rage (for other stuff not related) I may have come down too hard on you lads. Dont get me wrong you did a good to the rest of my car its just you didn"t sort my front brakes which caused undue stress from the missus and making me have to have it done again and in turn lose my car for the day, after all it seemed an easy job.

As for repeat custom and prices, I'll see how scoobymania goes for a couple of mods after all it is a competative world out there, please dont take any of my coments as a personal attack to yourself as I'm just a bloke with a car, after a job done.

Also dont think for a miniute that my comments were in any way aimed at swaying people away from your business as that was not the case.

Thanks Nick

As for what really happened, they didn't do my front brakes and the matter of the price was mearly a suggestion of competition.

Paul may well be right about the quality of the service, they well may use inferior products but who knows.

And as I have said to paul, I apolagise for sounding far too harsh as I do like the atmosphere you get a TSL.

Edcase, yes it does boost/and its a turbo timer, not sure what else as I'm having it fitted next week(hopefully). I'll post pics when its done.

Nick

Exclamation

Nick

Perhaps you would like to reconsider your wording above, it could easily be misread as company A said something about company B, which is not the case.

Don't worry Alex, I didn't read that into it.
I'm sure all (well most) on here know that Scooby Mania only use absolutely top line branded (or OEM where required) parts for our servicing.

I think the point about costs that Nick was trying to make was that our service cost (in isolation) is over £100.00 cheaper than he'd paid.

Admittedly our garage is not quite as plush as others, but we're working on it.

(As for the brakes; Paul if you want to phone me I'll explain what the problem was)?

Here here,

And I would never say any thing of the sort m8, never, anyone who is into scoobs or services them is alright by me, and thats the truth.

Besides I cant edit the message to say what everyone wants it to, but I do wish I had been less harsh and thats an end to it...

Cheers Nickkkkkkk

Mike - good, glad you didn't.

Nick - it was more a question of thinking about what you are writing and how it comes accross, not writing what others *want* to hear, you are intitled to your opinion.

There is always going to be somewhere cheaper, labour rates differ so much place to place.

Yes, coolant is part of the 60K.

Scooby Si, sombody must haver done you a blinding price, (virtually for free), for that 60K service price you mentioned. The parts alone come to £200.00

Impreza 60k service with ITG filter £436.80
[snip]
Total ex VAT £727.88
Total with VAT £855.26
So the 60k service (no cambelt, just fluids and inspections) is £436.80+VAT, i.e. £513.24
Take off, what £45 for an ITG filter and it's still over £450
