Is the annual service a year from registration or a year from 1000 mile service

Yep, agree, its a year after first registration date, then dont forget the one that the sales rep dont tell you of, the dreaded " body inspection" as that also is needed for warranty as is due on the same date, then every "other year", so start saving up.
