Anybody know of a good source of 2nd hand engines?

I need a 'new' engine after my crank has been 'lost'. I don't/can't pay STUPID money for new parts. So I have to go the 2nd hand route.

Where has your crank gone? Can't you repair the engine that you have - I would have thought that this would be the better option. I may be able to find a crank for you that you would have to have ground, and then use over size bearings.

The crank has too much end float...

The rods are apparently shot too...

Piston #4; the ring land on the compression ring failed and broke away(bore wash)...

really bad state...

APi want either 1400 or 1700 for an engine.
