Question

Pete

My offside Cibie is going through bulbs, the bulbs are not blowing (filament OK)but one of the contacts is obviously overheating (going blue) and contact lost? This happens after about 3 minutes of putting a new bulb in, and having the lamps on!. The contact appears to be tight (although the design looks a bit suspect to me for a lamp of this wattage) but this overheating (?) is clearly weaking the contact pin of the bulb as the pin has come away from the bulb on the last two replacements. Two questions, firstly have you any suggestions for a cure? secondly are the lamp bases available as a part (possibly changing this will fix it?)

Thanks for any help

Dave
