I called in to this dealership on my way home to Scotland on Sunday, I had recentley purchased a set of wheels from them and at that time I was impressed, however I decided to visit again and this time I met ACE guy Ian Armstrong, here is a TRUE Scooby Nut and he even took me through to see his fantastic Megabusa which is simply awesome.
I found Ian to be one of the most pleasant guys I have ever had dealings with within the Subaru Dealer Network and I can assure you that when I buy my next Subaru it will be from his dealersahip even though it is some 150 miles away from me.
Ian has a great selection of cars for sale and he is very knowledgeable about all models.
I suggest if you want a good deal this might just be the dealership to pay a visit to.
I just wish all the dealerships were like this one

Hi, have you had any dealings with the dealership. You are so right First impressions count and when Ian Armstrong strides out to meet you with a smile and friendly handshake , it made such a change to the NORMAL? Subaru dealewrships who seem to want to ignore you or think you cant afford to buy one of their cars.

Totally agree, had problems on my MY 98 turbo they dealt with them. Gave me a great price part ex for said car, fly back into the country tomorrow and pick up my Type UK Prodrive, can`t wait.
Good to deal with an enthusiast.

Ian Unfortunately I am unable to make your day at Croft due to other commitments on that day, I hope everything goes well for you and I can assure you that I am going to be in touch real soon ref my wifes car and if you sharpen that pencil, I might be persuaded to go into that nice Sti 7 that you have sitting in your showroom, you never know. or if you get fed up with that toy in the workshops I am your man, Thank you for letting me have a good look around.
I have no need to butter you up my comments were totally genuine and I hope anyone who is considering buying a Scooby no matter where they are in the country at least give you a call, lets face it Carlisle is not the end of the earth!!!!!!! and it is very easy to find you just off the motorway (M6) I look forward to meeting you again, keep up the good work
Regards Ian

Like you say it's first impressions that last. Let me give you two examples about owning a Scooby which is different from other cars
1 I heard about how good wax wizzard stuff was and got in touch with Mark underwood. He sent the stuff to me before the cheque landed on his doorstep!!....brilliant.
2 I paid TSL over 500 quid to paint and reserve me a new rear spoiler several weeks ago. They have my money money in their bank but I have absolute faith that the day I arrive it will be ready and waiting to fit(in two weeks)
3 Stan Palmer were as honest as honest could be about my Euro (Netherland) car re warranty, dent in bonnet, engine number problems etc.
Perhaps it's living in Carlisle..... My other car is a Toyota MR2 / Citroen Picasso and David Richardson (Toyota), Hamish (Citroen) and Shaun Seal (Hyundi)have been fabulous.
A Case of "Name and Praise"

I am certainly not the easiest customer to deal with and I am very much into Customer Care, Ian Armstrong showed that he not only knew about the product he was selling he genuinely cared about the customer and he did not try the usual high pressure stuff or as bad the we dont really care if you buy attitude. It was refreshing and I for one will tell everyone I come into contact with so that should they be looking to buy a New or Used Scooby this is the place to visit, in fact on my next visit I might take the time to actually visit the wonderful City of Carlisle as well I think their really must be a little touch of the Scots in the folks from Carlisle.. Cheers

There are certainly many glowing reports about Ian at Stan Palmer, which are going some way to reducing my growing fears about my brake calliper problem. Initially I was very impressed with Ian's help/advice and response in sending me some 4 pot callipers he was selling. Problem is that two RHS callipers were sent and only one had an anti-rattle clip. I flagged the problem up to Ian who offered to get them collected once he found who had the two LHS ones. Now everything has gone ominously quite, Ian doesn't seem to be answering my calls or emails and I am starting to get a little worried that I have made a poor purchase. I am assuming it is taking Ian a little time to track down the other callipers but an up date would be nice. Ian, if you read this, I have problems collecting mail from the email address in my profile, can you send any emails to the address I used the other day (my work address) please. Thanks.

I have just had a phone call from Ian and both my suspicions above are correct! He had been emailing the account I can't access and he has had problems getting hold of the other person with the other half of my calliper set!
I take back any concerns I had about Ian and he is trying to sort my problems out. Thanks Ian.
<walks off with tail between legs thanks to ntl ISP - can we have a slag off ntl thread please?>

Hi Benview7
The deals on personal contract hire are just the same i.e £1000 deposit and 23 payments of £275 per month based on 10,000 miles per annum.
The official reduction of list prices have not effected this deal as we have had a level of support from Subaru UK to the contract hire company removed, so one cancels the other out.
I still think it represents oustanding value for money and is the only way to go if you are looking to purchase a WRX. I certainly though so as I bought one for my wife on contract hire.
We also have one WRX STi Type UK left in WR Blue which is available on a 3 year contract hire deal for £1464 deposit and 35 payments of £449 per month based on 10,000 miles per annum.
Hope this is of some help. Do not hesitate to give me a call to clarify any further details.
