Notice that Virgin Cars are offering MY03 STi's (they say Type UK) for £22/23K which seems pretty tempting (been put off the Motorpoint £21K version as these seem to be Cyprus sourced cars and I want as much mftr warranty as possible).
Has anyone got experience of buying from Virgin, know where the cars are sourced from etc.
I guess they are not Type UK if sourced from Europe, they list a CAT 1 alarm as standard but not a tracker.
Also, any news/pics yet on any planned revisions for MY03?
Thanks

Add a £600 tracker = £23,600 starting to get very close to a UK sourced car!!
That aside, I purchased a Leon from them last year. Car was excellent, service was good, apart from their (very slow) ability to answer email.

I bought a WRX from them early this year.. car is great, price was OK given that it was 6 weeks delivery.. No service or handbooks.. Just got service book 6 months down the line... Still no handbook... Found them hard to deal with and unresponsive to problems..
Car was sourced in Belgium, and fingers crossed my local dealer is happy of the service work..
Oh mine had a free tracker fitted.. cool.. but they hadn't fitted the alarm that was specified when the car was delivered.. Soon rectified the problem tho...
Mixed bag really.. you pays your money etc etc.. Did think that I would have liked someone with premises where I could go and bend someone's ear... Probably only net purchase I've made that I would do a different way next time around.

I was going to buy a STi from Virgin till they told me it was a Cypriot car - then I read a thread on here about delays in getting manuals, etc. Went to a UK dealer eventually. You're right - technically Virgin shouldn't use the TYPE UK name because by definition for a car to be a TYPE UK it has to be imported through Subaru UK who put the alarm, tracker and the TYPE UK badging on it. AFAIK an EU car will not have TYPE UK anywhere on the car although yes, it will be mecahnically identical.
Most people feel a Cyprus car is a little bit more risky - odd things such as thinner glass, etc - and it's pretty much accepted that while you'll probably get an EU car serviced by a UK dealer, you're unlikely to find the same welcome for a Cyprus car - thought there are loads of specialisits (proabably better than some Subaru dealers!!)
