Importing a Scoobie!
#1
Folks,
I am thinking of importing a WRX STI using JAPANESE VEHICLE SOURCING UK based in Edinburgh. Has anyone had any dealings with them? Are they any good? Do they offer a cost effective service?
Or
Does any one know any other Japanese Car Importers that offer a good service that isn’t too expensive?
Cheers.

Does it have to be from Japan rather than via a EU importer?
Iif so, webcars.net are quite good (although ring as site only gets updated once a week or so). Just in case you dont know, most Jap cars coming into the UK now actually come from Dublin firstly.
Reason being there is a restriction on the amount of cars that can be imported directly into the UK, so to get around that dealers/grey importers first import it to Ireland then move it onto the UK through Liverpool - as there is no restriction on the amount of cars that can be imported from Ireland. This means that cars direct from Japan may be more expensive for you in the UK because of the extra costs involved in transportation, but also means that the car would be cheaper if you bought it in Ireland. Add that to the fact that Sterling is at excellent rates to the Euro and you should really be on a winner.

Blairc,
There are enough good importers out there for you to try, also it depends on which STI your after (new shape or old?)
You could try
www.warrender.co.uk
www.litimports.co.uk
as both of these have stocks of jap cars.
