Default Email modifying and forwarding

Is there a way to set my mail server to abstract the message body from an email and then re-send it as if it's come through an on-line enquiry form?

I want to strip out some of the crap and have the email presented in the same format as all other enquiries that come in.

To do that you have to have recognisable fields of data in the same location every time - have you got that?

You will probably have to forward the email to a program that will strip the data out, then either re-email it or submit as a request again (on line form?).

We can email a pre-defined string of data to an email address and have it populate the correct fields within the database but change the contents of the email around and it becomes garbage. So as long as incoming emails are in the same format & layout all the time, it can be done.

It always comes in the same way, I want to keep these details

Name
Dave
Email
email@email.com
Phone Number
0123456789
Event Location
Newtown
Event Details & No. of Guests
Private function for up to 180 guests

In some mail clients, formatting is shown, appearing as if it's in a table and cells, usually featuring some hand-writing like font that I can't read.

All the rest of the rubbish they send can be scrapped.

As suggested before, you could use something like procmail and pipe all mails to a perl script to filter out the needed data and resend the email. At least if you have your own mailserver that is running on Unix/Linux.
