Question Any Panasonic Tv and sound system owners on here?

I just bought a sound bar for my plasma tv.
However I can't seem to get TV sound out of it and can't set up Viera link.

Its possible I need an optical cable but my tv does not have an optical output? The audio out is red & white phono plugs.

I have an HDMI cable going from the tv to sound bar, which means it works perfectly with my blu-ray player, but I want to get my xbox and sky box also working with it so I can use the sound bar for everything.

Any ideas?

I'll have to try that. Got to dig out the Tv manual as well

I wonder if this is the solution?

I use a couple of optical cables, one out ofthe TiVo and one from the Xbox, direct in to the audio system, it doesn't go near my Panasonic tv at all.

Ok so I've been thinking about it all the wrong way. Just ordered 2 optical cables for the sky and xbox. No need for a tv output. Problem solved

I use a Yamaha sound bar with my Panasonic TV. I have the optical out from the TV connected to the sound bar, but I also use a good HDMI cable, which has to be connected on HDMI 1 for Viera Link to work. Worked on my previous Panasonic too.

I ordered a decent HDMI cable also so I'll give that a go as well

Its a shame but both the blu-ray and the sky will not work through my HDMI switcher.
Need more inputs on the TV
