If you have the IP you can do a WHOIS, you will get the TLD for the IP which can be used to reference an email but you won't get an exact full email address.

"Somebody is reading my wife's emails on her works computer?"

Surely the IP will just point to the organisation where she works, if it's her work computer they're using to access her emails?

Scott.

Well, depends if the person reading the email is logging on from a works machine or remotely.

Most email servers aren't locked down, if you know how you can pretty much read any email address, 99% of the time you don't need any credentials, they are left open!

Hardly. Got any evidence of this.

To the original poster, how have you got hold of this IP address?

You mean can I tell you how to do it? No, that'd be illegal.

It's basic penetration testing, mail servers are usually the weakest link.

As I just said in PM, I guarantee that will be her own IP from wherever she has logged on, home or work, it's just telling you the time and IP of the last logged in user.

Well, from experience, I can guarantee it is far higher than you'd like to believe.

I assume you mean someone is accessing her personal emails rather than her work email account? Tracking an IP to a person in this age if PAT / NAT & VPNs is pretty much impossible tbh.

This ^

Especially if it's someone on a 4G mobile connection with an IPv6 address that's been routed by every man and his dog to get to where it needs to go
