My iPhone contract is up soon
And that means i can get an upgrade. Thank god!!!!!! This bloody iphone was fine at first. But slowly, the faults have come to the surface. Crap battery life, chargers keep on breaking, accessories are ridiculously expensive, the wife's keeps cutting out mid call, and so on. So I'm looking at what else I can replace it with. I've taken a liking to the Samsung galaxy note 3. Is this a better phone? A worthy upgrade? What's your opinion?

Yes, get Samsung Galaxy note 3.
I prefer iPhones, my iPhone5 is going stronger than ever. But SGN3 is good as well, I hear.
You can get a new Nokia, if you like. TV ads suggest that it has a great camera.

sorry I read the wife keeps cutting out and thought I must get an iphone too....but then re-read it and realised what you meant.
I have a Note 2 which is a supurb phone so the 3 should be even better.

I first read that the wife keeps cutting it out i.e. she keeps hanging up on him. I was to suggest not to blame the iPhone for it, but then I re-read it and realised what he meant.

Looking at upgrading as well, currently have iPhone 5 was looking at trying something different but all the reviews seem to be for the HTC One which I thought was a bit dated. Anyone know if there is anything new coming out over the next couple of months.

It amazes me that the Z hardly ever gets a mention in here, it is a lovely phone and the best screen by a distance imho, including the S4 and IP5s, we did side by side comparisons at work and most of my colleagues want the Z now

i went from an iphone 3Gs to an original note. the screen felt comedy large for 24/48 hours.
then it becomes an awesome device.
I bought a Nexus 4 when I broke the note and the screen felt comedy small, and still feels way too small 2 months later.
I would get a note3 in a heartbeat if I could justify the cost.

It's true, I got two permanent infractions for mentioning iPads, permanent! I haven't left yet, would go with a bang if I did. The moderation on this forum section in particular is severely biased.

Galaxy Note 3 is the one to have right now, really wouldn't bother with the others (except potentially the N5). The Xperia Z battery is fixed so has similar limits to the Iphone in that respect, HTC are dropping older model support too quickly so that only really leaves the Nexus 5 and the Note 3 in play.
Both the Note 3 and N5 use the Snapdragon 800 with Adreno 330 GPU for very high performance.

I think it's anything Apple, here are the infracted posts. No one gets upset at Mongs and Dicks and the posts were not deleted.
All for reference.
Yup, I just mention iPad in a sensible comment and the mongs jump on the thread.
I mean come on, who's going to want that in the house? In an arcade maybe. The game didn't look much better than an iPad game, with that huge box running it I expected something special.

I looked into phones a few weeks back. I ruled out most of them due to their large sizes. This meant I had to compromise with the 'minis' and compared to the iphone 5 they couldnt compete.
Non, including the full size Z1 can compete with the iphones in materials and finish.
The HTC is nice but again falls short of the iphones build plus I read many bad reports on HTC customer service. it depends on what you value I guess. For me the Samsungs didnt get a look in, a cheap, plastic, toy looking device didnt interest me at all.

Mini's are a budget phone so of course they arent going to compete with a £700 iphone on build quality., however, having said that my partners S3 Mini has been dropped, abused blah blah and despite looking a mess has survived things an iphone can only dream of surviving.

I'd be infracted for saying that the other way round. Such a lame statement anyhow, what does an Android phone do that another doesn't? And why compare a £700 iPhone with a free Samsung Mini, you can get an iPhone for free as well.
