Slightly odd restriction, but given that it will be a small number of users that require to swap out sims for international travel. I just pay roaming charges. Maybe Xda can find a work around

It is significantly faster as it is snapdragon 800/Adreno 330 if you get the 4g version.

I shall be upgrading my note 2 come renewal.
