Default Blocking a number

How is it best to do this, it's one S.A. number. ( iv recently had my credit card used in that country 9 months after we'd visited)
-iv no idea who it is, i never pick up, they never leave a message. We have rang it on a different line, it's picked up but nobody talks. This number has been calling nearly since we got back

Probably a call centre, quite a few being out sourced to S.A. now, if you dont pick up quick enough then the call sender doesnt select you and you just get a quiet line
if you register with the Telephone Preference Service then these "should" stop.

On my phones hand set I can block numbers from incoming calls, think quite alot of phones have this now, maybe worth checking if yours does.

dpb how do you know its a SA telephone number about your credit card?

as there appears to be a lot of people receiving cold calls from a 0843 number which when called says its South African media group
