Default ipad 4 - few questions ??

ipad 4 - believe there is a tracking type app that is available should you loose / have your ipad stolen, just not sure if this app works on the ipad like it does on the iphone ?? do I require a sim card within the ipad 4 to allow me to use such an app ? son`s ipad 2 does not havea sim card holder within it, no use for this app ??

what would a sim card installed in the ipad allow me to do ?? make calls as such or is it purely for mobile internet use ?

sounds a great idea, any particular apps better than others for this purpose, how accurate are they ??

It works on iPhone, iPad and iMac. Obviously needs an Internet connection, that can be cellular or wifi.

Find my iPhone / iPad is a built in thing. Think it's in Settings somewhere (iCloud options I think).

You do not need a SIM card, all the iPads I have do not have SIM Cards, nor do my iPhones, but find my iPhone works with them quite happily with WiFi.

SIM card in the iPad, as you say, basically allows for cellular data, so yes, just for mobile internet.

I have had cause to use the feature on a device that someone outside the team borrowed without my knowledge and it quite happily locked it down (asks you for passcode to unlock it).

There's another app that runs "silently" in the background - it's called "Hidden"......

looks pretty handy - I've downloaded, but not had the opportunity to mess with it yet

I once farted in an Apple store and people got mad at me; 'cause they don't have windows.
