Default IP Camera - Setup

Hi there,

Purchased a wansview wireless ip camera & i'm struggling with setup.
I can get it to work on the wired setup but i'm struggling with the wireless part.
Its to be routed through a BT Fusion business router.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Seems a bit fussy that it needs a fusion router !!

but if it does for some bizarre reason, then you will need this

The router has two wireless access points, the main one and the fusion one. Both are independant of each other and can have separate channels etc.

You dont need to use the fusion side of the wireless but regardless if you do or not, the main thing you need is the router admin password. This is required for any changes to the control panel. I assume you know that !
(if you have forgotten you can reset it by using the serial or MAC code on the underside of the router)

Then all you need to do is to match the wireless channel and security . It may be that the security side is tripping up the wireless cam as they can be fussy.
Standard is WEP 128bit but you can have WPA enterprise or personal or WPA2.

HAve you tried looking at the manufacturers page to see what security they perfer ?

The other side that may be a problem is the port forwarding on the firewall.
The camera does allow UnP automatic port forwarding but it is worthwile finding out what port the camera is using, what IP the camera is trying to find and also see if the router is distributing IP addresses via DHCP
