How can it be capped ? Its peer-to-peer.

They still have the bandwidth throttle that the user can set.

As many as possible. Tend to flick about finding what I'm after with the best pings and most slots open

DC++ is good for multiple hub searching, but a lot of them don't like you using it

Dude, shouldn't really be directly mentioning stuff like that on here. Very sensitive issue, as I am sure that you can understand...

Edonkey has some bandwidth throttling on it. Basically as you limit the upload speed, it brings your download speed down.

Unhappy

Coutesy of Mr Holt, I now know what is happening:

Important Notice for ADSL Users (updated 22.05.2002)

Due to increase in demand and usage of ADSL our
current connections into BT are at maximum capacity.
The effects of this will be slower download rates and
increased ping times. To help reduce the problem some
p2p ports have been temporarily blocked (in
particular: eDonkey and KaZaA).

We have on order an STM4 interface (620 Mbits) running
over gigabit ethernet which will permanently resolve
this issue. Due to the delays in this installation we
are also acquiring an existing spare BT pipe from
another ISP. Unfortunately this has also been delayed
the past few weeks due to internal BT legal
timescales. Whichever one of these installs happens
first will solve the current problems. Please check
back here for daily updates.

Thank you for your patience.

Oh poo......

Hopefully wil be fixed soon enough though

Cheers,

Nick

Kazaa has been running noticeably slower for the last few weeks - since I upgraded to 6.1 (?) the bitrates have become unreliable and a lot of the downloads at 128 don't play - you just get weird clicks goings on. time to try the other sites suggested me thinks.....

I heard today that Kazaa has ceased? because it is being taken to court. Anyone else heard this?

http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/25414.html

I downloaded stuff last night with the usual connection speed (approx 70k/sec on broadband).
