Need some information on below before I have my digital electronics exam on Monday !!! Plz help :-)

characteristics of :
PAL's (programmable array logic)
PLA's (programmable logic array)
Simple FPGA's (Field Programmable Gate Arrays)

I need to be able to compare and contrast the use of the above in the implementation of a simple finiste state machine.

ALSO :

Modern CAD facilities allow rapid evelopment of digital logic circuits that can be implemented using either simple prog. logic devies such as PAL's, PLA's or more complex prog. logic devies suc as FPGA's. Describe principal phases and design activites in the development of such designs using traditional schematic diagram based methods.

I've got no idea about CAD so could do with smoe info !!

The previous two questions appeared in a digital exam two years ago and I just want to make sure I cover all angles because I'm seriously
