Default nexus 7 question

I got one for Christmas and so far its been great. One thing I can't seem to do is on photo bucket ( desk top site ) under my pictures are links and normally I would either tap on the link and it would say copied. Or the other method would be to highlight the link then copy it. For some reason I can't seem to do it on the nexus. Any pointers as to where I'm going wrong.

You have to hold you finger on the link. Two blue almost triangles pop up. You then drag them to either end of the link and then once it's all high lighted look at the top right corner of the nexus screen and you will see the options to cut, copy. Select cut, then switch to where you want to share the link, hold your finger down on the screen and a "paste" box will pop up, touch it and the link will be pasted in.

Be warned on this site for some reason the box can disappear very quickly and it can take a few attempts

That's what I expected to happen but when I hold my finger on the link it flashes blue then goes back to normal white.

The new mobile version seems to have other problems. When scrolling down through pictures it just starts to show the same ones again and again.
