iTunes library problem
As you know i dislike itunes, however i have been nagged by Mrs Mart to update her pod, which last time round resulted in the aforementioned program ***** waving and moving all my organised files / folders ruslting in me having to rebuild 60 gigs of music.
Well i duplicated the folder and set it up on a NAS
If i run properties - Folder mp3 60.0 gb 15,558 files
Winamp shows Folder MP3 15,558 files
Win media shows Folder Mp3 15,558 files
Itunes shows Folder Mp3 30 gb 4816 files
I have re scanned countless times but it steadfastly refuses to see half the library??
It says files not found (they are there, as i play them in winamp lol)
searches wont find files, again in the library !!
All files are MP3 format
Any ideas,,,

I have problems when I point itunes at folders on network shares. It just doesn't seem to be reliable. My solution is
1) On my PC have itunes organise and consolidate my media in to the local music folder. Use File|Library|Organise Library.
2) Meanwhile I keep my master copy of all music on my network drive arranged however I want it.
This means itunes will always have its music locally stored and it won't bugger up my master copy of my music. If I want to add music to itunes, I just drag and drop the folder from the network share on to itunes, then itunes will copy the music to the local folder. This seems to keep it happy.

Sort of doing that, after the last time it bolloxed up the library,
The soloution i have now is to copy each folder accross manually,
it cant cope with reading nested folders lol
