You'll be contract, so likely to get a higher end model.
My Lumia 610 is **** if that helps.
It's Windows 7.5 not 8 though. It's really slow, everything is limited by the 256Mb internal memory. The camera is crap, the keyboard is crap.
Battery life isn't too bad, lasts 2, 3 at a push, days with moderate use.
Other than that, did I mention that it's crap and I wish I'd never bought it?

Really like the lumia 920, only thing with it is the lack of apps on the marketplace, leaving trying it out till there are more offerings. The os looks really nice though and its pretty quick

I had a play with a Microsoft colleague's Nokia's 920, MS dished them out to all it's employees, was quite impressed with it, slick interface and a fantastic camera (for a phone). Windows 8 works interface works well on the phone and a lot better than on a PC IMO. They have released about 5000 apps for the phone, not bad considering it's only been out a few months and they're releasing lots more in the coming months.

I dished out about 10 Lumia 800s at the start of last year and only 3 have come back so far with issues. One with a faulty earpiece (warranty job) and 2 with smashed screens (replaced both myself). Love the WP interface, works really well in a business environment with Outlook, Sharepoint, CRM etc. Good feeback from the users, except the more mature users who are still struggling with touchscreens Even using the WP 'Fisher Price' interface
I'd be happy enough using it as my personal phone too if I had to. Very reliable, simple to use and excellent battery life. Only chose a Nexus 4 and iPhone 4 for myself since they're less limited for apps and I can do more geeky stiff with them.

had my titan 2 for a year or so now, running windows and i came from android. no issues with speed or storage, i suspect its phone spec thats the issue with that lol
i dont mind either now, the market is a bit sparse on windows, but is expanding, its still fairly new. Way it operates is slightly different, but thats just takes a couple of hours getting used to.
Updating windows on it needs a pc and zune installed, but it syncs with your pc like the android app.
If your adimant on not wanting android then i'd go with windows, i would choose which handset i wanted over which operating system.
