Tablets
Thinking of treating myself to one for Christmas, thinking about the Nexus 7, ipad mini or the Samsung one. It'll be just for browsing the net and a new toy to be honest, so I don't think I'll need one with lots of memory. Any recommendations?????

The blackberry play books are quite good, obviously theyre more suited to peeps with blackberry phones. However do come with 64gb of storage so lots of apps and films can be stored on them, and the menu and controls are easy to use. Im writing this message on the one i bought my missus for xmas.

I have just been having a look at some of the tablets in the carphonewarehouse today and I have to admit unless you pay out for a top price tablet for using the web, pinch to zoom is really fast on the ipad 2 but was very slow and jerky on midrange tablets. The new Note, Experia and Asus seemed good though but they are more cash. I though the Nexus was a little slow and the Tab was pretty bad.

Then decided I would get something bigger (Make it easier on my eyes for one) and because I was used to the Apple interface went with an IPAD 2 at the time.
Best thing is, if you get an app for one device it will also download itself on the other and vice versa. Ideal when it comes to buying one App for 2 devices without buying seperate apps.
Something to take into account.

Good choice. I was going to say to try them all and get the one you liked the most and was within budget. That's what I did and ended up with an iPad. No regrets, love it.

I just a bought a white 32GB I pad mini, well yesterday but it’s still in the wrapper will have a wee play later today. I was going to buy the Nexus 7 but the camera sold it for me on the I pad.
This will replace 4 devices. I will still use my Nokia Lumia 710 as a phone and emergency camera and net access, but my Archos 20GB camcorder mp3/4 player my I pod Nano 2GB, as I am crap at taking pictures my Fuji 14mp camera and my Archos 10" netbook. Packing for holidays should be easier next year.
This is not for everyone but this will suit me, the wife asked if I will use it much?, think I will. Its first proper use will be recording the granddaughter opening her presents tomorrow.

Was going to get an ipad 2/3 but integration with what we already have was the main issue.
didn't like the screens on the 7" devices, just too small. The Note gets more use than the laptop day to day.

I picked up an Archos 80 Cobalt, yesterday at Tesco. £50! It's a better spec than my laptop
Not done much with it yet, but it seems ok for the money.

When I was looking in to these Tablets, the Samsung was coming up better and plus you can put SD cards in to them, i also read bad reviews about the Nexus and the screens lifting off or something

Had a first proper play with an iPad mini yesterday as the father-in-law got one for christmas. Very nice. So light and thin. Makes my iPad feel like a brick!
The screen doesn't seem that much smaller either especially as the mini doesn't have a big border round the screen like the iPad.

Just don't let the battery go flat - it's designed badly so won't take charge once the battery gets too flat and the only way to get it back is to return it to RIM
