Seems to be slightly live. It's on the App Store, but I'm getting this error trying to download it: "There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (100)"

Was finally able to start the download. Looks like it'll be another hour and fifty before it's completed. Servers are seriously being hit as we've got a very fast connection here.
I won't be installing it just yet. I want to see what apps are compatible, plus what issues may appear with it. Might wait until 10.8.1.

think i might be able to use Messages now.
I have a yahoo account for iPhone/iPad and me.com account for osx
if your intended mail account/apple id is already in use as a secondary verified email with apple, you won't be able to use Messages.
just in case that was foxing anyone else.

USB install working, 3 machines to upgrade tonight.
iWork updates applied iOS and OSX but not yet tested, fingers crossed they've done a good job there.

and for £14, you can really go wrong tbh.
I'm holding back, as with previous versions, despite Apple ensuring that the main Logic package works fine, there's always 3rd party stuff that needs to catch up.
Can't afford for the upgrade to not work. I can always time-machine back to an older version, but I'd rather wait, and spend the £14 on booze or fuel
Rest assured, it will be on my Mac once I know ALL my necessity apps work fine.
In the meantime, I'll keep reading your findings to whet my appetite.
