Has anyone else come across this and if so how did u fix it? Running win2k with sp2 on a fresh build and I work in support but have no idea why the modem is causing a power cycle! Anyone ideas???

Its the bl00dy frog thing! Going to try updated drivers later and also check power management settings for device as apparently there is a known bug and power management must be switched off. Any knowledge of this problem that can be shared with me will be much appreciated!

I vaugely remeber there being an issue with the Alcatel USB model and a certain brand of motherboard having this problem, was all to do with the amount of power that was being taken by the USB ports.

There is a power supply issue with the frogs and I think this is one of the symptoms. Try using a PCI-USB riser card, maplins do them. If it doesn't work, just return it.
