evening all my youngest has dropped my new ipad twice and the screen is shattered on the corner and has cracks going across the screen i know theres a few people in the know on here so thought id post up for ideas on the best way to get this fixed? ive heard apple wont fix only offer a replacement and it will invalidate the warrenty if i told them its been dropped? are the ipad 2 screens the same as the 3?

 

Take it into an apple store and see what they say, normally iirc they'll tell you how much it'll be to repair it, but you may get lucky and they'll swap it for free at under warranty (my boss' son is on his 4th iphone 4 doing this, cheeky git).

Worst they can do is say no, apple store is always a great first port of call before looking into 3rd party repair outfits.

 

cheers m8 but there isnt any apple stores any where near me theres 1 opening soon 40 miles away but not for a month atleast

 

I had my youngest Son do the same to mine and Apple told me I could exchange it for a new one at a slight discount, they will not repair them.

I took mine to a mobile phone repair shop and they replaced the screen, cost £70.

Seen these fixes on eBay, are they not trusted to work?

 

I wouldnt mess with the ebay specials on something that costs as much as an ipad unless I really knew what i was doing, leave it to the specialists
