Seriously, if you need more than 5gig and it's gig not mb there are lots of better options than some server in Hemel Hempstead that Currys have knocked up. I haven't even taken a look at it, but you can trust me it'll be a wrong'un.

Box.com sometimes give huge amounts for free, think I have 25gig. Dropbox I have 8gig free. Google Drive I have 5gig free. Pretty sure Microsoft were giving away 25gig the other day.

Use iCloud for syncing and one of the above for storing files and you're golden.

Can you use iCloud for additional storage rather than just backing up things? I'd like (for example) another folder on my iPad photo gallery which connects to iCloud so I could then upload images to that and delete them from my iPad (I only went for the 16gb one)

I was only using images as an example, I also meant somewhere you could save other things for quick access eg downloaded magazines (for instant viewing over wifi rather than having to wait for it to download from iTunes again) plus I was thinking of a more permanent storage solution, isn't photo stream only temporary?

There are loads of file storage apps for the iPhone, I use Airsharing, well I used to, don't really find the need any more.

Did you activate it? And if so how did you get a refund as my local store are making things difficult.

Thanks
