Default iPhone wifi issues !!

Hi Folks

I have an issue with my 3gs, I have recently upgraded to the 4s and plan on using the 3gs as an ipod so I wiped it to factory settings and started to set it up from there, my problem is connecting to my home wireless network ( the phone has used this network for the last 2 years with no problems )

I have gone to settings selected WiFi and then chosen my home network and put in my password then the WiFi icon appears at the top of the screen at full strength but instead of getting the tick at the side of my network name all i get is the connecting symbol constantly rotating ??

I have tried re booting the phone, forgetting the network, resetting network settings and then rebooting,

I hope someone can help as I have already had to open a window so it doesnt smash when I eventually throw the **** thing through it !!

Thanks

Darb

I've had this problem a couple of times in the past, but it's always been with a jailbroken device. Try wiping the phone again and starting over. I know it's a pain, but it may be the only way.

Yeah seen this before, best solution is to switch it off and put it on the desk. Then go to your PC or Mac and launch an Internet browser window. Go to www.ebay.co.uk and click 'I want to sell an item'.......

The most common problem is the channel. Sometimes the channel you have selected allows certain IOS devices and not others. Log onto your router and in the wireless section change it from automatic to a fixed channel like 6-7 etc

Then try reconnecting, may help

That's what I'd do, then buy an Apple TV.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but my friends iPhone had the same problem with my new router from Orange. I changed the WiFi mode from auto b,g,n mode to g only in the router, fixed the problem.
