XP 64 COA
Dell OEM: will the COA state whether its 64 bit or not? The machine is a Precision 670 dual Xeon 2.8GHz and I believe that 32 or 64 were both options along with Red Hat.
Any help appreciated.

Simon, on my Dell laptop the COA does not specify 32 or 64bit and I don't recall having seen it on others. However this is for Windows 7 so whether XP 64 bit was specifically made to differentiate between it and the 32 bit version I can't confirm.
However if it was and you enter the license key it should tell you if it isn't for the right version of Windows. If it accepts the license key then i'd be confident that version is licensed correctly with that key.

I don't think he's asking if it's 64 bit installed on it, that's a doddle to find out. I believe the question is whether the COA sticker with the license key on it will cover 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows XP.

Simon, may or may not help, just checked 2 old versions of xp coa's that I have. One xp media centre, the other xp home neither of them say 32bit or 64bit (the discs with them were 32bit though)

Yep, that's what I was getting at. The COA should only be applicable to a particular version of the OS not dependent on whether it's 32 or 64 bit hence I got 32 bit and 64 bit intall discs with my Windows 7 box.
