I can recommend a bad one.
i.e don't whatever you do buy one.
Sonys range sucks, they have good style and processors but the software (drivers) and support is crap.
I've had Dell portables in the past and they have always been superb, reliable and well built.

What about something from Fujitsu Siemens ??? Look at the notebooks link.
I use an S series. They are the most reliable in the business at the moment. See if you can get hold of WillieF - he is a reseller.
