Default Buying RAM for a PC

How do I know what sort of RAM I need for my PC?

and use the tool on there to tell you

Its saying that my RAM type is DDR2, is that all I need to go on?

DDR2 RAM is still cheaper than DDR1,but expensive than DDR3

Just post here what motherboard you have on your PC and from this almost everyone will tell you what best memory will be for you?

I assume you are running Core2Duo

there should be a "type" that is good for your motherboard. it should give a number

Done, from reading Crucial I see that windows XP can only run 3GB of RAM and i'm already running 2GB is it worth my while as I only use it for the Internet and playing the odd bit of music through?

You should be OK with 2GB RAM on XP and difference between the 2GB and 3GB is not massive

goto crucial does it all for you and even shows you what to buy. Its all i use really.

24 gig of ram for my PC 100 quid LOL I just got 8 gig for my lappy 32 quid its great
