No apart from buying a proper media player. I have one for sale

£50+ postage put your own hard drive in or just plug a USB drive in.

You need the Team Rebug modified custom firmware. Looks like there's a Rebug installer package now too. I don't hack my PS3 personally, but apparently it works.
