There have been many articles about this....

You would think that deleting your account from FB is the end...

Not so, FB holds all you data and will store it indefinatly....

the only true way to eliminate yourself from FB

is to delete every post, picture, commet from your wall or friends walls

then when you kill you account, there is no data to link to you

Twitter is terrible, I set up a twitter account, never posted a thing but wanted to use it for news etc, tried it for a few days and deleted my account, couldn't see the point was a terrible system

Twitter is brilliant compared to Facebook. Facebook infuriates me with the amount of cvnts in there.

Same here And, I still get emails saying someone is following me, even though I deleted it all, or so I thought
I find it amusing when someone like the moneybox man, Paul Lewis, says on Breakfast TV, he is "tweeting" his latest money advice

You are never totally immune as even if you delete all of your own content; those people who uploaded their own pics and 'tag' you would also need to delete their pictures.

He probably means deleting the Facebook app from his Android phone. Well you're out of luck, thats the problem with an operating system that is so easily controlled, makes me laugh when people say Apple is controlling. Did you know that that app and others have permission to send and read your SMS messages and other nightmares, and you can't change it! So much for having control with Android.

I deleted every wall post and comment on my facebook since 2007 - it took ages. I had previously deactivated the account but wasnt happy with my info still being "out there"

Social networking is terrible.

No. You can hack your phone to get rid of it but it's not as simple as people would have you believe.

Dave, the preinstalled apps have shady permissions. You can't change that.

Let me quote you Dave "(see xda-developers to see how easy, or not, that is for your phone - the OP that is ....)"

I gave the correct answer, the app cannot be deleted, if it could the OP would not be here would he. Yes he can go somewhere and learn to hack his phone, which given his security concerns should raise an eyebrow. Using your logic if someone said "Is my Escort a Motorbike" the answer would be yes.
