SP6 or 6a? Definately use 6a as 6 is dodgy as hell! Don't install it from within NT4, set your boot options to boot from cd first from within the bios and then stick the xp cd in and boot from it and install from there. When it asks you where you want to install it to select the 2nd hard drive and off you go.
If you need more detail just ask!

It's 6a 128bit. Still tells me I don't have 5 or higher!!
Problem is I don't have the CD - we have a volume licence on a server. I don't have a floppy drive - left it at home.

If you've got a copy of 2000 on the server, why not install that to the blank partition, boot into 2K and then upgrade to XP. Stops any possabilty of it screwing your NT partition. Could take a bit though.

copy the whole of the i386 directory on your server to your PC. get hold of your floppy drive. boot up to DOS prompt with a bootable floppy. goto the i386 directory and type winnt.exe. "should be" OK from there...
