Just for info, it seems htc are now rolling out gingerbread to the lower end phones, I know ics is now out but it will no doubt still benefit some,
I've just got the official release on my wife's wildfire s, seems to work well despite it not being a duel core phone.

I remember when gingerbread first came out it was said older phones could not handle it

2.2.2 appeared on my desire this morning, not sure what's different.

My wife's is on 2.3.5 now, gingerbread is 2.3 and over

My Desire S was updated to 2.3.5 on 1st December.

Still can't receive or make a call sometimes even when it is showing a signal
