Thoughts on fresh website style

Default Thoughts on fresh website style

I have a website for a motoring product that is cluttered with an out-of-date style.

I want to change this to a site that is modern and fresh looking but with no gimmicks.

Basically the front home page would just have the product name with picture and a few words with links to background application pages down left hand side.

But what background colours to use to make it modern but readable? So often I see sites from major companies where the site is a mess of information with links all over and writing that is too small or the colours are wrong e.g.dark blue on black background.

So any links you have to well designed sites are invited as are other comments.

white background with 2 colours thats what i always use

Your product images will make or break your page. Get the best images you can and keep the rest simple. Light colours in the background, striking colour to make your point. Not too much text especially on the front page.
