Plays better than Bad Company 2 although sniping seems to be different but tbh I didn't use them that often, although i dismissed the lying down as pointless i was completely wrong.
Teamwork is still the key to this game although many people on the Beta didn't seem to realise that

(played on xbox360)

Im sure I read somewhere that even if you get it early the online isnt avalable for Europe until midnight on thursday.

See the BF3 Beta thread further down this page. I must admit I hated it when I first played it as was very buggy but that quickly got sorted out without a patch (at least that was visible to me). Once I started unlocking weapon upgrades etc it was a lot more enjoyable and tactical.

I never played BFBC2 so cant comment on differences. Last I played was 2142 so PC. I played a lot of MW2 on the PS3 and fancied a change. Plus I like the idea of vehicles and aircraft.

I did like the fact you have to adjust your sniper rifle aim for the long range shots ie compensate for bullet drop.

Got my copy pre-ordered for collection at local sainsburys on friday morning. Also have the day off work

I downloaded the beta but forgot to play it, i went to play it the day after it had stopped.

I loved Bad Company 2, so i'm buying Battlefield 3 for sure.

I didn't really get on with BFBC2 so I'm hoping its a bit different, but then I am more used to CoD so prob just need to spend a bit more time adjusting. Like the vehicles etc, wish CoD still had that - good old United Offensive!

I played the beta, loved it, will be collecting my copy Friday evening for the weekend.
It's possible people who get it early won't be able to get online as they are using dedicated servers so they could restrict access in theory

Probably the best game I ever played IMO, I reinstalled it recently but it's just not the same nowadays.

Ive only got an 80gb PS3 but never been close to even half full.

What I never understand is that Uncharted 2 which imho is one of the best looking games on the PS3 didnt even require an install on the HDD. Everything run off the blu ray.

Yeah. I wasnt comparing PS3 vs 360. Just more wondering why if one of the best graphical games can run like that then why cant the rest on the PS3?

If the 360 Arcades dont have a HDD where do people save their game profiles & data?

The later arcade models had to built in storage for profiles and dashboard updates

i can't wait for this game. i played the hell out of BF2 and also the BF:BC 1 and 2. enjoyed them all. and even though the beta had lots of Glitches and bugs, i enjoyed playing it and as the beta was an old build version, videos online are looking very nice, and hardley anything like the beta.

I'll be getting this for Xbox first thing friday, got the day off to chill as well i'll be playing the crap out of it over the weekend, as its my anniversary next week... so i better show my face to the ball and chain... :-\

As for the Graphics disk, that will be the first thing to install, until i watched that video yesterday, i was in too minds, as i didn't think that it would do much, but watching the video the difference was so different. hahah.

Same here. Mrs thinks Im a geek having the day off lol but we are off to her friends for the weekend leaving sat am.

There best be no issues with online play on friday thats all I can say. Will be gutted if there is.

Dont think you get a choice on PS3. I believe its a 2gb install.

Took the plunge and ordered the PC version (boo - hiss lol) yesterday.... was dispatched today.

Makes sense to get it for the PC as it will be graphically superior and it's £10 cheaper (work that one out and I bet they sell more console versions as well).

i'd of liked to get it for the PC, however its been some time since my PC has had the upgrade, so that £10 cheaper wouldn't really help me as i would either have to by a whole new rig, or upgrade the one i have at the moment, which would probably be the more expensive choice!
