iphone turning off

hi my daughters iphone 4 stays on with the charger plugged in but when she takes it out it turns off within 5 minutes does anyone know why it would do this tried resetting it but still the same cheers

Sounds like faulty battery, best thing is to book a Genius appointment at an Apple store.

im thinking battery myself but its only a year and 3 months old thought it would last longer than that

Have you tried a hard reset or anything?

Hold both the home button and on/off button together and see what happens. Will reset the phone, but she should have a backup at the ready anyway...
