Help - MGI VideoWave5
#1
Please help...I'm not a tech person, and have just tried to help father in law with his new package (above). It's for transfering / editing analogue camcorder film, but we can't even connect the camcorder to his PC !!
The camcorder has two wires, neither of which fit anything at the back of the PC. Someone out there must have this package ? Please tell me what wires are needed / where to connect to (the books (PC & MGI) don't give any clues on connection at all !!
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Daz - at the moment there is one lead from the camcorder which splits into two - one yellow / one black. Neither of these fit into the PC though ....which is why we're confused.
I can't believe that there isn't anyone on here who has connected a camcorder to a PC and can tell me what leads they use / where plugged into.
Looks like it's a trip to PCW !!
Thanks again Daz

An analogue camcorder will have a yellow comppsite video out lead, along with a one red and one white audio out leads. These leads plug into a capture card fitted inside the PC.
A digitial camera usually has a digital out which plugs into a firewire card in your pc
