Gears 3 Release
Anyone else order Gears of War 3?
I got an email to say it has been dispatched today and so has one of my friends.
So i should get it in next few days, I've seen games be sent early to ensure it arrives on release date but release date is not until 20/09/11.
This is good news it seems

lol, watch you dont play it online and get the banhammer for MS thinking its a hacked copy

I have most of them mate, the only ones i need to mop up are the multiplayer ones from Gears 1 on the pc, and the get to level 100 in Gears 2 multiplayer (think i am around 57)

Ordered through Gameplay.
They emailed to say it has been dispatched and will be delivered in 1 working day, but as im in the north of scotland i know not to expect 1 working day.
My friend ordered his through Game, he got an email saying dispatched but he also got an email saying that it may not be delivered by the courier until the day of release.
Don't understand why they are trying to confuse customers by saying dispatched when it may not actually be dispatched. Cant see the couriers' vans being full of the gears game and gears consoles floating around not delivering them, so their either dispatched or it's not, it cant be both
I'll phone gameplay later today if no sign of it and ask them if its actually dispatched.
Gameplay advised it gets dispatched to my local depot but they are under instruction not to deliver it until nearer the date of release.
That explains it then.

I pre-odered from amazon and it said ready to be distached yesterday and today at about 5pm it was dispatched so i'm guessing i should get it in the morning which is handy as i'm off for two days

Can't believe no one has commented on the game having played it yet, you all too busy playing?
I've not touched the single player mode yet, too busy playing TDM and Horde mode, have to say i'm loving it so far feels to run much better than Gears 2 which was also a fantastic game

I'm the same i've mostly just played horde and beastmode.
It is good, going to take a while to get used to the new maps and the extra things you can do. I'll be playing this game for some time

If you liked the first two Gears games you will love this, more of the same but improved in every way really, it won't convert anyone who doesn't like gears but for fans of the previous games this is an absolute must buy

I picked it up last night (sorry townie about not joining your party, it was my last game before bed)
Thoughts, this is damn SLICK.
The MP seams a LOT more polished, played around 7/8 games so far and it seams to run with a higher frame rate, the graphics are improved, and host advantage seams to make things a lot more fair.
I am not so keen on the daft stuff they have added like pink gun skins (i was never a fan of the gold ones in gears 2)
Did the main cast find a supply of even stronger steroids? Marcus/Dom/Cole look fooking huge, maybe a bit too big ?
Cole and Baird have a redesigned face, how wierd :/
The unlock options, achievement tracking and stuff is properly integrated now, everything just looks a lot more polished, i am quite impressed on how well the graphics are standing up so far, although i still think the dark setting of Gears 1 is/was the best, the game was supposed to be a gritty dark story, and it seams to become more and more cartoon like with each new release, i have not played a large amount of campaign yet (that is for later today after work )
Played a little Hoarde last night, and i am not sure on the changes to that, money and repairing stuff is different.
Tried a little beast mode and i was not a fan.
Loving it so far though, coop campaign seams a little wierd, only the host can get the goodies from it, anybody joining another game does not get the rewards from the campaign (or that is what happened with me and a mate)

didnt realise i'd preordered the limited edition ....lol

still i had £5 off for the preorder, and £30 from my recent immidiate trade in ...

Frubbin hell, its a mahooosive magnetic type box with a huge metal cog inlaid into one half. a minidisc type case for the game disk, and a flag and other acoutriments (sp) tucked behind it...
oh well, that should make for an interesting resale one day

) the story mode is ok was still a lot shorter then i would have liked. oh i also got the limited edition and on the cog there is a code to unlock adam fenix as a mp playable character.

I'd say get out and buy it, I don't see this dropping in price any time soon, Gears 3 on the Xbox is like Halo, games like this hold their value well, certainly won't drop before christmas
